What Clinton's doing

A good Thrush story, with an astute quote from a Clinton insider:

“She’s not the answer when it comes to winning conservative women — she never was — and we’re not going to be anybody’s attack dog against Sarah Palin,” said a Clinton insider. “To be fair to Obama’s people, they haven’t asked us to do that.”

It's an oft-forgotten point that Clinton's fervent supporters were Democratic women, and that she's always had a problem with independents.

Semi-relatedly, a smart observer pointed out to me recently that Palin's strongest appeal to swing voters may not be to suburban independent women, but to working-class men.
